Dear

It has come to my attention that you have conducted a fund raising effort under the guise of a marketing research survey.

My company is an active member of the Marketing Research Association (MRA), an organization representing over 3000 opinion and marketing research companies and professionals. As an industry we are committed to fostering excellence in the research process, increasing public participation in survey research, and the continuing growth of our industry. We do not sell or fund raise as a part of our research process. We also do not sell consumer names and telephone numbers to any other company, or put them on a mailing list.

As a member of MRA and the survey research industry, our company objects to the way you are misleading the public! When fund raising is done under the guise of research, consumers think this is how marketing research is always conducted. This makes them very suspicious and unwilling to participate in future opinion surveys. I ask that your (company/organization) review your fund raising practices and make changes in future campaigns. If you would like to discuss this issue with me further, please contact me at (telephone number).

As a company that uses marketing research for business purposes, your addressing this issue can only benefit your marketing research efforts and our industry.

Sincerely,
