Volunteers are the heart of an Association. Without the efforts of our volunteers, MRA would not be the leader in opinion and marketing research resources today.

Whether you serve on a local Chapter level, or on a National Workgroup or Committee, every contribution made serves to help other members of the Association and the opinion and marketing research profession.

MRA’s Workgroup structure affords you flexibility. You may volunteer to be a member of the main Workgroup overseeing many projects. Or, because you prefer a more defined commitment, you may want to jump in on a special interest project that is shorter term. The choice is yours. There’s something for everyone! Here is the Mission of each Workgroup:

Public and Profession Workgroup → Merrill Shugoll, Chair
Mission: To advance MRA as a recognized leader in the marketing research industry and strengthen the profession, by ensuring that public and members of the profession know who we are and what we do.

Education Workgroup → Marisa Pope, Galloway Research Service, Chair
Mission: To anticipate the educational environment and needs of the survey and opinion research professional, develop and provide educational opportunities for the advancement of knowledge, and offer innovative delivery venues, providing opportunities for all involved in the industry.

Certification Workgroup → Ken Roberts, Teradyne, Inc., Chair
Mission: To guide the design, implementation, and administration of the PRC program and accreditation programs developed and operated by MRA, ensuring that all standards of appropriate certifying entities are met and that all programs are conducted at the highest level.

Business Services Workgroup → Ed Sugar, Chair
Mission: In keeping with the larger MRA goals of service and agility, the mission of the Business Services Workgroup is to provide the information and resources our members need to conduct business. We will identify their needs, and create agile task forces to investigate (collect, compile, analyze, evaluate, review), and implement (promote and communicate).

Membership & Chapter Workgroup → Amy Shields, Nichols Research, Inc., Chair
Mission: To increase membership through recruitment and retention, to maintain and improve Chapter relations and facilitate volunteer recognition.

MRA greatly values and appreciates each and every one of its members who offer their time and expertise. The value of any association can be directly attributed to the contributions of its members. MRA is fortunate enough to have some of the best minds in marketing research available to the Association and its members.

When you volunteer, you have the chance to actively contribute to further the standards and development of the profession by taking part in the activities of the Association.

If you are interested in volunteering, or would like to find out more about volunteer opportunities please call MRA at (860)682-1000 and ask to speak with a representative or print and complete this form and fax to (860)682-1010.
