Have You Called C.H.R.I.S.?
"CALL C.H.R.I.S." stands for Caller Hotline Research Information System, provides a toll free access to the public who wish to know more about the survey research industry. The system is a 7/24 (seven days each week and 24 hours each day) way for the public to get their questions about the research industry answered quickly and correctly.
"Call C.H.R.I.S." has information about the importance of Research in American Life, differences between telemarketers and researchers, the commitment researchers make to respondents, and more. Callers can even learn how to reduce the number of telemarketing calls they receive. Callers can also speak with a CMOR staff person during office hours and/or leave a question on the system that will be answered on the next business day.
Just dial 800-887-2667 and follow the prompts.
Callers can also visit the CMOR Internet web site at http://www.cmor.org and receive information CMOR has developed. An Interviewing Training Tool instructs interviewers how to handle respondent questions. The Tool is accessible for duplication on CMOR's web site.
CMOR, a federation of survey research providers, their professional societies and trade groups and users of survey research, has an ongoing initiative directed at educating the public about the importance of Research in American Life. The initiative is designed to build familiarity with the research process and build awareness of the value of marketing and opinion research to society.
