All PRC's are required to renew their Certification every two years. Any individual who fails to submit a renewal application and fee and/or does not complete their education requirements in that 2 year period will be required to reapply, accrue the required contact hours in their discipline area and pass an exam.

Requirements for Renewal

  1. Must complete ALL education requirements in their area of certification, prior to their expiration date.
  2. Complete the renewal application and submit along with their renewal fee (located on renewal application) to MRA Headquarters on or before their expiration date.

Where can I find the renewal application?

The renewal application is located on your PRC record. Once you have submitted all education requirements you will be eligible to renew your Certification. Click on the Renew Now at the top of your record. (If you do not have a renew now option, you are not eligible to renew at this time.

How do I know when my certification expiration is or if I have completed my education requirements?

All certified individuals can check the status of their certification(s) 24/7 by logging onto the PRC database; www.mra-net.org/prc.

When do I submit my renewal?

The renewal application and fee must be submitted no later than your Certification expiration date, which can be found on your PRC online record.

What if I submit my renewal after the deadline?

Due to the complexity of the PRC program, and the length of time it has taken individuals to become accustomed to the regulations of the program; any individual who has been certified during the grandfathering period (February 28, 2005 to July 31, 2007) will have a 60-grace period following their first term certification expiration date to submit their renewal application and fulfill all education requirements. The PRC department will revoke the grace period at midnight on July 31, 2009 after which all PRC's must submit their renewal application showing all requirements have been met on or before their certification expiration date.

Individuals who do not renew with in the 60 day grace period will be required to reapply, accrue the required contact hours in their discipline area and pass an exam.

How do I earn Contact Hours?

There are many ways to earn appropriate education contact hours. Two important factors must be considered. First, the topic presented must be among those required for the candidate's job category. Second, approval must be gained prior to the education event in order to be applied to earnings. Please see section on 'Contact Hour/CEU Approval Process' for details on how to have courses approved and applied to earnings. All MRA and MRA Chapter events offer approved contact hours; the designation of time and topic are included in program materials.

  • Industry Association education events
  • Online courses
  • Publish a research related article or Presentation
  • Other (Candidate must seek approval prior to event for credit consideration.

Contact hours are assigned as follows:

  • Expert Level

14 Contact Hours of education related to job title within a two (2) year period.

  • Practitioner Level

18 Contact Hours of education related to job title within a two (2) year period.
