Session Description: This session will discuss how so-called Web-2.0 social media platforms such as Facebook, Linkedln and Twitter are revolutionizing marketing and business development. Questions will be answered such as many researchers are being called on to measure the impact of these relatively new tools, but are they taking the advice they are giving to clients? To what extent is the marketing research community using these tools for its own business development efforts? In this session, results will be shared from a new survey among marketing researchers measuring the adoption of social media for marketing and business development. The survey measures adoption across multiple countries and many types of research professionals and organizations. Attendees will learn industry adoption and usage of existing and emerging communication modes and industry adoption and usage of social networking sites for marketing and business development activities.
